On 04/11/08 dometic filed a defect report stating certain two-door refrigerators contain a boiler tube that may fatigue and develop a crack.should a cracked boiler tube release a concentrated amount of cooling liquid and an ignition source is present, a fire may occur. A fire can cause personal injury to vehicle occupants. Rmd mailed information request letters to 227 companies on 7/1/2008 and again on 9/30/2008.from those mailings, 78 companies installed these refrigerators into motor vehicles and subsequently filed defect reports with nhtsa, 89 companies submitted written responses but were not required to file a defect report, and 28 companies failed to submit a written response to rmd's information request letters.32 letters were undeliverable.notes for each mailing can be found attached below or in the document repository.this eq is closed.
