What NHTSA is examining

On 6/7/07 bendix filed a 573 defect information report stating certain sr-7 spring brake modulating valves might intermittently fail.unauthorized changes to the manufacturing of these valves can cause the internal check valve rubber to become deformed.this can create a leak that may delay the application of the parking brake, in some cases leading to a vehicle rollaway.a rollaway event might cause damage to personal property and/or harm to other motorists/pedestrians. Rmd mailed information request letters to 6 vehicle oems on 5/22/08.in response to this letter, kovatch mobile equipment filed 08v-263, select trucks refurbish center is a subsidiary of daimler?s and covered under 07v-302, and sst truck company is a subsidiary of ic corp and covered under 07v-314.link-belt construction equipment and rosenbauer motors did not use these valves certified for highway use but will have their units repaired.protected vehicles inc. Returned all their recalled equipment to bendix in early 2007.ir responses can be found below or in the document repository.this eq is closed.
